Project Summary The objective of the TSFE4 project was to provide tailings storage capacity for 30 months production with a 3.5m raise of Cell 3 to RL 271.1. The execution phase scope consists of mechanical works on tailings delivery and decant recovery systems, civil earthworks to construct the raise utilising in-situ tailings for working platform and local clay borrow materials for the raise; and installation of an internal tailings drainage system to improve tailings consolidation for future raises.

Cell 1 Buttress Project

Project Summary The project involved the installation of a stabilising buttress on the northern, eastern and southern sides of the tailings storage facility including into the Decant Dam (water dam) to ensure adequate factors of safety for embankment stability under liquefied conditions. The works also consisted of an array of sand filters to intercept seepage flows and suppress surface seepage expressions. Design and construction of the Cell 1 buttress was expedited to ensure Cell 1 embankment would be compliant with ANCOLD freeboard requirements prior to the 2019/2020 wet season.

Project Summary Construction of a replacement underground mining primary crushing in an active underground mining environment. Work involved all civil, mechanical piping, and electrical instrumentation works to provide a fully functioning primary crushing system. The business-critical project was executed under continuous shift or roster cycles, successfully delivered on time and on budget without incident.

Flinders River Environmental Mitigation

Project Summary Project site supervision of wet weather remediation works of a 1000m section of river frontage. Supervision of the installation of a 3:1 batter along the 100m of riverbed as well as excavating and filling of wash away gullies further back from the new position of the river bank. The project also included installation of 500 wooden piles into the 1000m section of mitigated river bank to stabilise and direct the flow of water, to allow sediment deposits in future flood events, rock batters and rock chutes placed in batter to deter future erosion events and hydroseeding of the batter and top sections of riverbank to promote stability and erosion control.
